Jahja Santoso

President Commissioner, Sanbe Farma

From its humble start in 1975, Jahja Santoso grew Sanbe Farma to become one of Indonesia’s biggest and most advanced pharmacies, with a market of more than 37,000 doctors served by 1,000 medical representatives

For Sanbe Farma’s founder Jahja Santoso, research and development are crucial to his business, explaining his investment in the Sanbe Biotech Research Division back in 2001. Today, Santoso controls an empire that is the country’s biggest producer of ethically prescribed drugs, including anti-cancer products manufactured in the company’s own plant, as well as animal and aquaculture vaccines and medicines.

Sanbe Farma’s exports are just as impressive, with clients in Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East. But Santoso is looking to expand, which led to the upgrade of Sanbe Farma’s manufacturing arms to be compliant with US and European standards.

With eight manufacturing plants in place, all equipped with state-of-the-art technology and equipment, Santoso is all set for greater international expansion, to further assert Sanbe Farma’s place on the global map.
