Jack So is the chairman of the Airport Authority Hong Kong, which runs Hong Kong International Airport and the adjacent AsiaWorld–Expo events space, a position he has held since 2015.

So’s CV reflects a high-profile career both within government and the private sector. He joined the civil service in 1969, working for the Housing Department and the Independent Commission Against Corruption before a period in the private sector, working in finance and real estate. He then became executive director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in 1985, in which role he was instrumental in encouraging Hong Kong companies to establish operations in Mainland China.

So subsequently became chairman and chief executive of the MTR Corporation, then managing director and deputy chairman of information and communications technology company PCCW, before returning to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council as chairman, then taking up his current role.

The chairman of the Consultative Committee on Economic and Trade Co-operation between Hong Kong and the Mainland, So is also the chairman of Harrow International School Hong Kong and the vice-chairman of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Society. In addition, he holds a non-executive director’s post at AIA Group and China Resources Power Holdings.

A member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, he is a JP and has a Grand Bauhinia Medal.
