Olympics Swimmer

 

Backstroke-specialist Siman Sudartawa has won a total of eight gold, five silver and one bronze medal in South East Asian Games year 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017, on top of setting 2 SEA Games’ records in the 2011 Games. In 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Siman was chosen as the Indonesian flag bearer during the opening ceremony and qualified in rank 39. In May 2017, he returned from the Fourth Islamic Solidarity Games in Azerbaijan with two gold medals and a new national record. The previous record was made two months earlier by the Bali-born swimmer himself in the 48th Singapore Age Group Championships in Singapore. He was the first Indonesian swimmer to qualify at the semifinal of the July 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest after he finished sixteenth in the 50m-backstroke.
