Xu Huijing believes the magic of documentaries lies in their ability to bridge diverse cultures, regions and classes. He released his first film in 2010, and since then his career has gone from strength to strength. His 2020 work Tough Out—about a group of troubled boys who learn to play baseball—clinched Best Documentary Feature Award and Audience Choice Award at the 14th First International Film Festival.
