The creative pushes the boundaries by weaving style with Web3
Hugh Koh

Hugh Koh is the co-founder and chief vision officer of Malaysian storytelling streetwear brand Pestle & Mortar Clothing (PMC). Founded in 2010, PMC has grown its footprint globally, collaborating with some of the world’s most renowned brands such as KFC, Honda, AirAsia, Looney Tunes, Petronas and Royal Selangor, among others.

In 2022, Hugh took the company into Web3 with its sold-out NFT collection, a collaboration with Tiger Beer to celebrate the Year of the Tiger. The Tiger Archives was the first NFT project in the world to offer monthly beer redemption for holders, together with a wide array of phygital experiences. Since its launch, Hugh and his team have been busy organising events in Malaysia, Singapore, Los Angeles and New York City.

Hugh is expanding PMC’s presence in the metaverse with the upcoming Digital Threads, a one-stop platform where Web3 brands and collectors can create and sell physical merchandise at no upfront cost, generating a new revenue stream regardless of their role in the ecosystem.

“The world of tomorrow will mostly be digitally-focused, even for fashion. We want to be able to move with the times so digital merchandise could be a possibility.”
