Ho Thi Thanh Van

In 1998, she gained direct admission to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, where she later became a lecturer in inorganic chemistry. After completing her master’s degree in 2006, she was awarded a full PhD scholarship from Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Completing her doctorate in less than three years, she not only finished ahead of schedule but also secured both a US and a Taiwanese patent in the field of new energy.

Returning to Vietnam in 2013, Dr Ho Thi Thanh Van has been deeply engaged in both teaching and scientific research. Her primary focus is on renewable energy as a sustainable alternative to depleting fossil fuel sources. To date, she has contributed to more than ten domestic and international science and technology projects and has published extensively in prestigious scientific journals. In 2020, she was named one of Asia’s 100 Outstanding Scientists by Asian Scientist magazine, and in 2022, she was among 15 global recipients of the World Talent Young Scientist Award, presented by the L’Oréal Foundation and UNESCO.
