Hans Michael Jebsen is the chairman of Jebsen, the family trading conglomerate first established in Hong Kong in 1895, initially as a shipping company. These days it has operations in areas including consumer products, logistics, finance and motors.

Born in Germany into an illustrious German-Danish family, Hans Michael Jebsen joined the company in Hong Kong in 1981, and took up his current position in 2000. He is also a director of related Singapore company Jebsen & Jessen, as well as a non-executive director of Hysan Development and The Wharf Holdings. Among his many philanthropic endeavours, he established the Jebsen Educational Foundation in 1995, and is a trustee and former chairman of WWF Hong Kong, the chairman of the Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong Friends’ Committee, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Hong Kong Red Cross. He is also a member of the advisory board of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School, and the Hong Kong European Union Business Co-operation Committee at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

Jebsen is a holder of a Bronze Bauhinia Star, as well as honours from the governments of Denmark and Germany, and in November 2021 received the title of Guangzhou Honourary Citizen. He is married to Désirée and is a father of five.
