Hafizh Syahrin is the first motorcycle racer from Southeast Asia to race in the MotoGP, scoring four top ten results and finishing just four points short from winning the Rookie of the Year prize against 2020 MotoGP runner up Franco Morbidelli. He has also had three podium wins at Moto2 World Championship.

Hafizh started his career at age nine with minimoto riding where his exceptional talent won him the nickname ‘King of Pocket Bikes’. After competing in local and regional races, in 2012, he moved to the FIM CEV Repsol to compete in the European Moto2 category and made his intermediate class debut with a wildcard appearance in the World Championship Moto2 round in Malaysia, where he scored his first podium win. He ended the CEV season with two wins before moving to the Moto2 World Championship for 2014 with Petronas Raceline Malaysia and in 2017, achieved another two podium finishes.

In 2018, he moved to the premier class with Monster Yamaha Tech 3 where he was chosen to replace Jonas Folger, leading to his history-making entry into the MotoGP. He left Tech 3 in 2019 to return to the intermediate class after struggling to keep up his position after their switch to the Austrian KTM motorcyle.

In 2022, he is set to compete with MIE Racing Honda team in the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK). Hafizh is married to Suzana Abdul Manaf.
