Goh Wei Boon

Goh Wei Boon is the chief executive of the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech) and also serves as the country’s government chief digital technology officer. In these dual roles, he is at the helm of Singapore’s Smart Nation ambitions—overseeing the strategic development of secure, citizen-centric digital platforms across all government agencies.

Appointed to lead GovTech in 2023, Goh plays a critical role in shaping Singapore’s public sector digital infrastructure. His work spans nationwide initiatives including e-government services, data-driven policymaking, digital identity, and cybersecurity architecture. As government chief digital technology officer, he sets technology direction for the whole of government, driving collaboration across ministries to deliver digital transformation at scale.

Prior to GovTech, Goh served as chief executive of the Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT) under Singapore’s Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), where he led advanced research in infocomm and cybersecurity. He previously held roles such as director of technical projects at MINDEF, delivering critical defence tech capabilities. In recognition of his contributions to public service, he was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2015.

A Public Service Commission scholar, Goh holds a Master of Information Systems Management (Highest Distinction) from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Information Science from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. In 2022, he completed the Stanford Executive Program, further sharpening his leadership acumen.

Today, Goh continues to champion the development of secure, inclusive, and intelligent digital services that improve lives, strengthen trust in government, and ensure Singapore remains at the forefront of global digital innovation.
