Goh Chee Hau, the managing director and co-founder of TheLorry, was not a stranger to the logistics industry before he established Malaysia’s first on-demand logistics digital platform with his founding partner Nadhir Ashafiq.

The finance graduate started his career in the aviation logistics industry, building an extensive career working with multiple global airlines. He met and worked with Ashafiq while the two were at an air-freight company, ABDA Aviation. In 2014, now ex-colleagues, the two met for lunch when the discussion turned to the challenges in the logistics industry, and the idea for TheLorry was conceived.

Five months later, they launched their now-regional digital logistics platform that connects customers to lorry, truck, van and 4X4 pick-up truck drivers in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore. With just a handful of drivers in the early days, TheLorry now employs in excess of 7,000 drivers who provide services like professional house moving, furniture dismantling and disposing, and B2B logistics.

In 2017, Goh and his TheLorry co-founding partner were among Forbes Asia’s 30 under 30.
