Ginawan Tjondro is the co-founder of PT Citra Nusa Insan Cemerlang (CNI Group), a home-grown company in Indonesia established in 1986 which is the oldest multi-level marketing firm in the country. Previously named PT Sanchorellatama, it sold sun chlorella products.

CNI has been awarded the Corporate Image Award six consecutive times from 2007-2012. The award surveys more than 2,000 journalists, investors, executives and members of the general public in key cities in Indonesia.

Together with Edi Sukamto Josana, Tjondro founded property developer Istana Group in 1988. Its projects include commercial centres, residential buildings, hotels and resorts, factories and warehouses, and even public parks.

Some of Istana’s most remarkable projects are the cultural park Garuda Wisnu Kencana in Bali, commercial centres Istana Plaza in Bandung and Istana Bandung Electronic Center, residential development Istana Regency, and hotels Sofitel Seminyak Bali and Quest Hotel Kuta Bali.

Tjondro also serves as President Commissioner and Commissioner of the coal-mining company PT Indo Bara Pratama. Before entering the real estate development sector, Tjondro set up businesses in banking, transportation, commodities, manufacturing and consumer goods.
