Gillian Tee

Gillian Tee is the co-founder and CEO of Homage, a technology-enabled care platform that connects individuals and families with care professionals across Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. What began as a response to the challenges she experienced navigating care for loved ones has grown into a community of more than 30,000 care professionals supporting families across the region.

Tee founded Homage after the deaths of two people who raised her prompted her to rethink how families access care. Having previously built and exited a company in the US, she returned to Singapore with an ambition to make care easier to access and more human while giving people receiving care greater agency and the professionals providing it more meaningful and flexible opportunities.

Under her leadership, Homage has expanded beyond an on-demand care service to address the wider care ecosystem, including through Homage Academy, which develops and supports its community of care professionals. Tee’s longer-term ambition is to train and mobilise an additional 100,000 care professionals, helping to strengthen the care workforce while creating sustainable livelihoods in the sector.

She is also an advocate for rethinking the role of care in society, particularly its impact on women. Tee argues that caregiving—from raising children and supporting ageing parents to managing households—continues to fall disproportionately on women, limiting their professional and economic opportunities. She believes better care infrastructure should therefore be considered not only a healthcare or ageing issue, but a fundamental part of advancing women's participation in the economy.

In 2026, Tee was recognised with the Tatler Front & Female Founder Award for her work reshaping care through technology while creating opportunities for the people who provide it. Her approach to leadership has evolved alongside Homage: she believes it is less about having all the answers than creating the conditions for others to contribute, lead and shape what comes next.
