An accomplished senior management executive and attorney with extensive global experience, George Tanasijevich was a prominent figure in bringing Marina Bay Sands to fruition

George Tanasijevich, managing director of Marina Bay Sands (MBS) and managing director of global development for Las Vegas Sands Corp (LVS), played an integral role in the US-based casino giant’s bid to launch an integrated resort at Marina Bay.

Tanasijevich played a key part in managing the bid, overseeing a myriad of professionals in the design, construction, marketing, operations, legal and financial fields. He was also in charge of co-ordinating the development of the resort, which incorporates gaming facilities, a luxury hotel, a museum, MICE facilities, and shopping and dining outlets.

When it opened in 2010, Marina Bay Sands wowed the world with its three 55-storey towers and rooftop infinity pool. It became the go-to destination for everyone from footballer David Beckham to singer Katy Perry, and hosted various world premieres and events. Plans are under way for a SG$$4.5 billion expansion, which will include a fourth hotel tower, 1,000 more luxury suites, a 15,000-seat entertainment arena and additional MICE space.

Tanasijevich’s current job scope entails compliance, legal and government-related matters, the aforementioned expansion of MBS and new development opportunities for LVS. He also serves as a member of the MBS board of directors.
