Chief executive officer, Link Asset Management
George Hongchoy is the chief executive officer of Link Asset Management, the manager of the Link Real Estate Investment Trust, Hong Kong’s first-ever real estate investment trust and Asia’s largest. He took up his current role in 2010, after joining the company the previous year as chief financial officer. Link REIT has grown fast during his time in charge, even as Hongchoy has diversified the type of properties the company manages.
Hongchoy began his career in New Zealand, also working in financial consulting and investment banking. He is also the chairman of the supervisory committee of the Tracker Fund of Hong Kong, a member of the Hong Kong government’s Financial Services Development Council Policy Research Committee, a senior fellow and a member of the corporate advisory council of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, a fellow of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors, and a global governing trustee of the Urban Land Institute.
