Gary Wan

As managing director of Hyrox Apac and co-founder of The Hybrid Group, Gary Wan has driven a massive regional expansion for the global fitness racing series. Since introducing Hyrox to Asia in 2022, he has scaled events across the region—drawing over 40,000 total participants across China alone—and solidified high-profile corporate alliances, including a major Asia-Pacific hotel partnership with the World of Hyatt loyalty programme. The global backing of Hyrox by LVMH-backed investment firm L Catterton further underscores the cultural and commercial significance of the fitness ecosystem he continues to build.

Prior to expanding Hyrox across the region, Wan established a track record of introducing world-class active lifestyle experiences to Hong Kong’s notoriously desk-bound population. Through The Hybrid Group, he launched the city’s inaugural Spartan Race in 2016, bringing the world’s leading obstacle run to local competitors—performing each course at least 30 times himself during the design phase. He also co-organised Iris: Your Escape, launching Hong Kong’s premier outdoor yoga and wellness festival alongside Gianni Melwani, featuring over 80 classes ranging from meditation to bootcamps.
