Gan Seow Kee

Chairman of Singapore Business Federation; former chairman and managing director of ExxonMobil Asia Pacific, Singapore Business Federation

 

An oil-industry veteran and local business wayfinder, Gan Seow Kee now supports Singaporean companies in establishing a foothold overseas

Gan Seow Kee is vice-chairman and treasurer of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), and chairman of the body’s GlobalConnect@SBF initiative. Launched in November 2019 in partnership with Enterprise Singapore, GlobalConnect@SBF supports Singaporean firms on their regional expansion plans. The programme focuses on ASEAN, frontier and emerging markets, and free-trade agreement education and outreach.

Prior to his role at SBF, Gan was most recently chairman and managing director at ExxonMobil Asia Pacific, from October 2014 to January 2021. He served in various capacities at the oil giant since 1979, and retired from the firm after more than four decades of service.

Gan was also appointed as an alternate member to the Council of Presidential Advisers in June 2020. He is a board member of the Economic Development Board, and also serves on the Emerging Stronger Taskforce, which reviews how Singapore can keep economically resilient in a post-Covid-19 world.
