The head of Robinsons Land is now the presidential adviser on investment and economic affairs

When Frederick D Go joined Robinsons Land in 1992, the company had just five assets, three of which were eventually sold. When he eventually became president and CEO of the company, he oversaw a hefty portfolio that included over 50 shopping malls, 31 office buildings, 28 hotels and resorts, six industrial facilities, and 19 mixed-use developments, to name a few.

In September 2022, Go led Robinsons Land's entry into the Philippine Stock Exchange. It became the fourth real estate investment trust to be listed after a successful initial public offering that raised about US$471 million—the largest real estate IPO in the country. Armed with this war chest, Go’s plans include adding more solar panels to its malls, building LEED Gold Certified office buildings, and creating cutting-edge structures and developments to add to Robinsons Land's impressive portfolio.

Go was also instrumental in developing the ambitious NUSTAR Resort & Casino in Cebu City, the island’s first integrated resort development and ultra-luxury hotel outside Metro Manila, aiming to redefine luxury in accommodations, dining and leisure. In January 2024, Go resigned as president and CEO of Robinsons Land to provide the government with his invaluable knowledge of the economy and astute business sense.

Their latest major venture, Opus Mall opened in 2024, a luxury shopping centre in the heart of the Bridgetowne development. With over 50,000 square metres of space filled with diverse dining and entertainment options, it’s set to be one of the country’s premier malls. More will be added in the coming years, with several ongoing horizontal and vertical developments in the pipeline.

Go has been handpicked by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, to be the presidential adviser on investment and economic affairs. He also serves as the president and CEO of Universal Hotels and is the co-chairman of Resorts Luzon International Premier Airport Development.
