Chairman, Galaxy Entertainment
Francis Lui has turned Galaxy into a Macau market leader
Just as his father Lui Che-woo built K Wah into a construction and real estate giant, so Francis Lui has shepherded Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) to a position of pre-eminence in a competitive market as its chairman.
In 2021, Lui received the insignia of Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters from the French Government. In 2024, he was named the most influential person in the Asian Gaming Power 50 list, underscoring his leadership at GEG, which has made substantial strides in enhancing Macau’s tourism and leisure offerings, especially with the successful completion of its Phase 3 projects, Galaxy International Convention Center, Andaz Macau and Raffles at Galaxy Macau in December 2023. GEG also announced the mid-2025 opening of Capella Macau.
He is also the vice-chairman of family company the K Wah Group, which he has worked for since graduating from university in the late 1970s. K Wah was established in the 1950s as a construction materials business, and then moved into property development; its property division, K Wah International, has extensive interests in Hong Kong, mainland China and Singapore.
A member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Lui is also an executive director of the Chamber of Tourism of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, an honorary president of the Association of Macau Travel Industry Professionals, and counsellor of Our Hong Kong Foundation. He is married to Millie, with whom he has three children, including Joanna Lui-Hickox.
