Francis Lui

After taking over the K Wah empire, Francis Lui has turned Galaxy into a Macau market leader

Just as his father Lui Che-woo built K Wah into a construction and real estate giant, so Francis Lui has shepherded Galaxy Entertainment Group to a position of pre-eminence in a competitive market, as the most profitable casino operator in Macau. As well as being deputy chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group, Francis Lui is also the vice-chairman of family company the K Wah Group, which he has worked for since graduating from university in the late 1970s.

K Wah was established in the 1950s as a construction materials business, and then moved into property development; its property division, K Wah International, has extensive interests in Hong Kong, mainland China and Singapore.

A member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Lui is also executive director of the Chamber of Tourism of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, honorary president of the Association of Macau Travel Industry Professionals, and director of the Macao Chamber of Commerce. He is married to Millie, with whom he has three children, including Joanna Lui-Hickox.
