StoreHub is helping Asian SMEs scale their businesses online

Fong Wai Hong, the chieftain and co-founder of StoreHub, a cloud-based retail management system, never imagined a thriving career in e-commerce—let alone becoming an entrepreneur—with a regional business until he helped his uncle set up OZHut, a successful online retail business on eBay. Starting out with one e-commerce store, he scaled the business in five years, building 12 commercial sites that ended up bringing in AU$5 million in revenue.

Later re-locating to Shanghai, China, Fong worked as a consultant, offering his expertise to businesses looking to grow. He drew from his experience of scaling businesses and developing online retail strategies, using his time in China to also brush up on his Mandarin.

In 2014, Fong returned to Malaysia and co-founded StoreHub. The aim was to help SMEs transition from brick-and-mortar to online retailers by providing them with a point-of-sales, inventory and customer-relationship management system that help them grow profitable businesses. With offices in Malaysia, Thailand, China and the Philippines, StoreHub has worked with more than 15,000 SMEs in Asia, and envisions significant expansion throughout the region.

Amid the pandemic, Fong launched a food-delivery app, Beep Delivery, to help their F&B partners sustain their businesses during the lockdown.
