Award-winning, rising Malaysian TV and film producer Florence Sloan recently scooped up an Emmy for TV drama series Delhi Crime<.em>

Florence Sloan made her debut as a producer with Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, a 2011 historical drama movie based on the novel by Lisa See. More recently, she produced the award-winning Indian drama show Delhi Crime. The series won the International Emmy for Best Drama in 2020 and was also a big winner at the Asian Academy Awards.

Malaysian-born Sloan, the daughter of construction kingpin Tan Sri Low Keng Huat and Puan Sri Molly Low, stepped into the film business in Los Angeles after marrying former chairman and CEO of MGM Studios Harry Evans Sloan, whom she met while living in London and working as a children’s book writer.

Taken by See’s best-selling novel that follows the lifelong friendship between two girls who develop their own secret language—a story she says really spoke her to her Chinese roots—Sloan finally found a story she wanted to produce and teamed with her long-time friend Wendi Deng Murdoch to bring the story to the big screen. She later co-founded Golden Karavan, a production company focused on producing digital content, under which Delhi Crime was produced. Following its incredible success, in 2021, season two was released on Netflix India.
