Fang-Yu Lai

Fang-Yu Lai, a prolific Taiwanese lawyer specialising in family law, has devoted much of her career to the legal work of preventing domestic violence and assisting victims of violence and assault. Lai has served as a member of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of China. She was also the convener of the Modern Women’s Foundation Litigation Support Committee, and a member of the Zhongtian TV Ethics Committee, the Eight TV Ethics Committee and the Civil Justice Reform Foundations.

Taiwan Children’s Rights and Physical and Mental Health Promotion Association (TACA) was established in 2016 with Fang-Yu Lai as its founding chairman. The association is comprised of lawyers, clinical psychologists, counsellors, social workers, psychiatrists and teachers trained to handle family matters, working together to provide an integrated, multidisciplinary resource to aid families in need and protect the best interests of children. TACA opened a trauma recovery centre in 2020.
