IPOH, 20 Feb -- Pereka grafik Mohd Fahmi Reza Mohd Zarin, 40, dipenjara sebulan dan denda RM30,000 oleh Mahkamah Sesyen hari ini atas pertuduhan memuat naik gambar aib pemimpin negara bertujuan menyakitkan hati orang lain, dalam akaun Facebooknya dua tahun lepas.Hakim Norashima Khalid membuat keputusan itu terhadap tertuduh selepas mendapati pihak pembelaan gagal menimbulkan keraguan munasabah di akhir kes pembelaan.--fotoBERNAMA (2018) HAK CIPTA TERPELIHARA

Often having a brush-in with the law, mostly for his satirical artwork on local politics, Fahmi Reza is a brave man who entertains the general public and deals with much harassment.

With a career spanning almost 20 years, and hundreds of artworks and designs made to get people thinking and talking, Fahmi has been arrested multiple times for his provocative creations.

Outside of social media, one would have come across Fahmi’s work for NGOs and advocacy campaigns like Amnesty International Malaysia, Suaram, and Bersih 2.0.

With quite a loyal following—as well as probably an equal number of haters—Fahmi survives mainly through the use of Patreon and merchandise sales. He remains steadfast in his commitment to continue the good fight, combining art, activism and politics to create social change.
