Ezra Don

Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, OmiseGo

Imagine a world where you could pay for any and all goods and services with loyalty points from anywhere in the world. After all, “the ability to transact money easily should be a human right”. Co-founded in 2013, OmiseGO, often abbreviated to OMG, has become Southeast Asia’s leading online payment platform. With over 12 years of experience as International Trade Manager and Coordinator in telecommunications and fintech, Don envisions a “world where cash is digital and free flowing, stored on blockchains, and accessible by smartphones across borders.” Along with lifelong friend and business partner, Jun Hasegawa, they are spearheading the new decentralized era of inclusive and transparent finance, especially for the underbanked. The revolutionary innovation aims to provide a universal convergence point for all forms of “online wallets”. With the backing of Ethereum, they were established in 2014. To motivate people to help run the network, they offered OMG tokens. When the initial coin offering was launched in 2017, they raised over US$25mn. Rolled out at the end of 2018, they hope to be fully operational in five years. They have received Startup of the Year award from the Thai Government.
