Evan Chen’s father is a senior amateur racer which established a strong interest in car racing for Evan Chen early on. Though his family did not approve of Evan’s participation in car races initially, he started his career as a racing driver after showing talent in this field at large international racing events. When he participated in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA) for the first time in Thailand in 2015, he won the championship. Impressed by his performance, KLM Omak Sports team invited him to join the team. Later he became champion of the year at the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA), ProAm group. In 2018, he was sponsored and trained by Lamborghini Taipei and is currently preparing for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia.
