Eugenie Patricia Agus

Co-founder and Creative Director, Puyo Desserts

Eugenie Patricia Agus co-founded Puyo Desserts at the age of 19 with her brother Adrian Agus. Inspired by the Thai movie “The Billionaire”, in which a college dropout starts a seaweed snack company, Eugenie, who was on a gap year before university, decided on pudding. Her parents, family and friends were instrumental in getting the business off the ground. As she took interior design for her diploma degree, she manages the creative side. Together, they worked 16-hour days to perfect the light and silky texture of the puddings and drinks, with unique flavors such as cotton candy. Moreover, they are low in calories, have no added preservatives, and have zero trans fats. They started selling at bazaars, online, to friends and family, before pitching to open a store. Puyo opened its first official outlet in 2013, and has now opened 40 official outlets around Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok, Cibubur, Karawang, and Bandung. The company has also donated over $15,000 to save sea turtles and construct two children’s libraries. Last year, the entrepreneur graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business and commerce from Prasetiya Mulya University in Jakarta.
