In 2016, former US marine and Under Armour-sponsored athlete Elberlino Tiwa realised that Jakarta lacked a studio space where people could push themselves beyond the boundaries of a normal workout. The result was Empire Fit Club, the holy grail of rigorous, boot-camp training. Now expanded to Bali, it attracts visitors from around the globe, thanks in part to talented coaches such as Gen.T honouree Vanessa Budihardja.
