Real estate magnate Eka Tjandranegara continues his quest to rule Indonesia’s skyline with towering developments under the aegis of his Mulia Group

Eka Tjandranegara’s influence in the Indonesian real estate environment is unparalleled. His company Mulia Group is behind some of the country’s most recognisable and sought-after properties, from luxurious hotel to skyscrapers. Its properties located in prime commercial districts in Jakarta are home to numerous global, multi-national and government organisations, and private businesses dabbling in retail, engineering, IT, travel, banking and finance.

Among said properties are landmarks such as the 57-storey Wisma Mulia, Indonesia’s largest and most advanced retail and residential complex; Taman Anggrek Mall & Condominium; and the luxury destination Mulia Resort in Nua Dusa, Bali.

The Mulia Group was founded by Tjandranegara together with his father and two brothers in 1970. It started dealing in building materials like ceramic, metal and glass but has since focused on property development. From the founding of Mulia Industrindo in 1986, with its ceramic and glass-producing subsidiaries to its listing on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 1994, Tjandranegara has been a vital figure in the industry.
