Edwin Pun has been busy during the pandemic. The real estate developer and director of his family’s business, Keyestone Group, has multiple projects in the works, including a Hello Kitty theme park in Sanya, Hainan, set to open by 2025. Pun has worked for Keyestone for more than a decade, and is responsible for design-related aspects of its projects and helping to drive business development. He credits his appreciation for architecture and design to his time studying in Washington DC, “home to some of the most recognisable architecture in the world”, he says. “I remember driving by these landmarks and being moved by the designs and the awe-inspiring emotions they instilled in me.”

He says the toughest aspect of his work is remaining creative. “My team and I are constantly challenging ourselves to deliver innovative products and experiences that excite people.” Their goals include being at the forefront of the theme park tourism and hospitality sectors, as well as playing a leading role in shaping sustainable development in the industry.

Being stuck in Hong Kong has inspired Pun to pick up piano playing again, with plans to take practical exams, despite his hectic schedule––a choice befitting his life motto: “Believe you can, and you’re halfway there.”
