Edmund Cheng leads one of Asia’s property investment and hospitality behemoths
Hong Kong-born Edmund Cheng is deputy chairman of property and lifestyle company Wing Tai Holdings Limited and managing director of Wing Tai Land Pte. Ltd.
Wing Tai was founded in Hong Kong in 1955, and made its way to Singapore in August 1963. The firm was listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange in 1989, and today operates a network of companies in the fields of property investment and development, lifestyle retail and hospitality management across Asia. Wing Tai recently reported a net profit of S$43.6 million for the year ended 30 June 2021, marking a 173 per cent jump compared with the previous year on the back of increased revenue from development properties.
Cheng chairs multiple organisations, including Mapletree Investments and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, and has received numerous awards for his contributions to the arts and tourism sectors.
