Eddy Katuari

Owner and Chairman, Wings Group

Second-generation heir to the Wings Group, Eddy Katuari expanded the soap-producing company into a consumer-goods giant

In 2004, Eddy Katuari took over the Wings Group after the passing of his father Johannes Ferdinand Katuari, who had co-founded the company with Harjo Sutanto. The giant household goods maker is one of the largest in Indonesia, with a huge number of businesses under its belt including the popular instant-noodle brand Mie Sedaap.

Under Eddy Katuari’s leadership, the company now exports its consumer products to more than 80 different countries. In 2000, the group expanded to other industries such as plantations, chemicals and packaging. Katuari’s other ventures include a partnership with the Lautan Luas Group and Salim Group for oleochemical company Ecogreen.

He also co-owns a packaging company called Unipack, while Wings Group has started investing in the palm-oil sector.
