A love for food and music foments Eddie Chew’s path into the restaurant industry

Restaurateur duo extraordinaire, Christian Bauer and Eddie Chew are rock stars in the fine dining arena. After acquiring space on the 24th floor of The Troika, they populated it with a string of swanky restaurants and swish bars—Cantaloupe which serves modern French cuisine, Claret wine bar, Strato Italian restaurant, and Fuego South American restaurant. Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar and Brasserie Fritz later joined the Troika Sky Dining family.

Chew is a trained pianist and worked at The Yamaha School and Universiti Teknologi Mara. He was also part of the National Choir and National Symphony Orchestra for a number of years.

Chew and Bauer’s love of entertaining at home eventually led to the opening of Frangipani—in fact, their New Year’s Eve parties were legendary. Apart from the restaurants, Chew has a wine business specialising in biodynamic and natural wines.
