Ed Deng leads a team that develops pioneering smart healthcare solutions

Ed Deng (鄧居義) is the co-founder and current CEO of Health2Sync Inc. He leads the team in developing the digital healthcare app “Health2Sync” and the cloud-based “Patient Management Platform.”

Hailing from a family of doctors, Ed Deng did not pursue a medical career but instead worked in investment banking and technology startups. Seeing family members’ need to record daily blood sugar just to manage diabetes properly, he recognized the time-consuming and error-prone nature of this process, especially when communicating with caregivers or healthcare facilities. In 2013, he co-founded Health2Sync and embarked on developing digital healthcare solutions.

The Health2Sync app integrates with devices and meters ranging from blood sugar, blood pressure, wireless insulin pens, weight scales, and others, helping patients record their daily health data. Healthcare professionals can view this data conveniently and reliably on the Patient Management Platform, a basis for prescribing proper medication and dietary adjustments.

The Health2Sync app has more than 1.2 million registered users globally. While Health2Sync has collaborated with international diabetes care giants like Abbott, Sanofi, Novo Nordisk, and AstraZeneca, the company has established subsidiaries or business partnerships in Singapore, Japan, and Egypt. Their footprint extends to over 600 medical facilities and related organizations worldwide. They plan to expand into other Asian countries, including South Korea and Australia.

Health2Sync's insulin dosage adjustment software, “Insultrate,” recently received approval as a class 2 medical device from Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration in 2023, making it the first digital therapeutic in Taiwan, a significant step in digital chronic disease care.

Besides continuing to develop convenient digital engagement and therapeutics for diabetes and other chronic diseases by introducing AI and other methods, Ed says that the company also aims to create new solutions to assist the general population in managing and pursuing a healthy daily life.
