The journalist connects heritage, technology and communities through stories

Journalist, editor and author Đinh Đức Hoàng explores how communities understand themselves through stories. From chronicling contemporary Vietnam through books and journalism, including the impacts of Doi Moi, to reimagining Vietnamese mythical creatures through pioneering phygital projects and developing the Linh Sơn Thánh Mẫu art project atop Bà Đen Mountain, his work is driven by a belief that identity is built through storytelling. A longtime advocate for traditional culture, indigenous community identities and the rights of vulnerable groups, Hoàng pursues new ways for meaningful stories to endure in a world increasingly shaped by algorithms and short-form content.
