Diana Cesar was appointed as executive director and chief executive of Hang Seng Bank in 2021, after working as group general manager and chief executive, Hong Kong, for the bank’s parent company, HSBC, since 2015. In total she has worked for the company for 22 years, in areas including marketing, credit cards, consumer loans and mortgages. She has also been the regional head of distribution strategy and consumer propositions for Asia Pacific.

Before joining the bank she was general manager for customer relations at SmarTone Telecom, and worked in Canada and Hong Kong for Citibank and American Express. Among her many public roles, she is a director of the Financial Services Development Council’s Market Development Committee, a director of the Community Chest of Hong Kong, vice president of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers, and the former chairperson of the Hong Kong Association of Banks.
