Believing in social capitalism, Devan Linus Rajadurai co-founded MTC Asset Management, the first hedge fund company in Malaysia, with a couple friends. In 2015, its sister company, MTC Advisors Sdn Bhd, became the first licensed boutique fund manager in the country. MTC still remains the country’s only boutique fund management firm and competes for the same client segments as private banks, with a current hedge fund account of hedge fund account of over RM150million. The fund currently allocates approximately 40% of its portfolio in US companies, 40% to Asian companies and 20% to other opportunities.
