For using her creativity as a positive force

Desiree Ong fell in love with moving images as she grew up watching American, British and Southeast Asian television. Besides contributing to the Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated Kubo and the Two Strings, among others, she was a graphic designer on Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. Desiree advocates passionately for the environment and draws creative energy from the ocean. She hopes her next film will highlight climate change and natural science.
