Driven by a love of boating, Danny Tao co-founded ePropulsion with Pan Zongliang and Wan Xiaokang as a research project in 2012. He’s since grown it into a pioneer in electric marine engines, which are more durable and less polluting than diesel ones. The company is best known for its top-selling Spirit 1.0 Plus. Projects include replacing the engines on 2,000 rafts that ferry tourists between Guilin and Yangshuo; and powering France’s first 40m fully electric food cruise ship.
