Dana Maulana

Co-Founder and Director, Danjyo Hiyoji

 

With a passion for fashion and the desire to explore his creative side, Dana Maulana decided to take a different route from his Bachelor’s in engineering and took the plunge by studying a Master’s in International Business and launching his own fashion label, Danjyo Hiyoji. The dream started in college in 2000 when he conceived the business with his childhood best friend Liza Masitha. Since they launched their label in 2009, Danjyo Hiyoji has evolved from only two sewing machines and a dream into what it is today because of teamwork and talented partners. As such, Dana can be proud that the Japanese-inspired androgynous brand has attained a cult-like status in Jakarta. To stay current, he stays connected with the new generation, including via his #WeAreDanjyoHiyoji movement, which is intended to represent people of any age who have inner youthful spirits. Having garnered multiple awards and collabs with various brands including Nissan, he just had a collection for Men’s Fashion Week and Jakarta fashion week. Currently, he is also working on producing clothes that are more affordable and accessible to all.
