Co-founder, PeoplePods
Understanding that a rested worker is a productive, happy worker, Daniel Layug’s PeoplePods provides clean, safe housing for a vulnerable group—female factory employees. With access to a restaurant, a kitchen and 24-hour water, electricity and WiFi, workers can erase their daily commute—often to impoverished neighbourhoods—improve their health and increase their take-home pay. Besides aiding women’s empowerment, PeoplePods also focuses on climate change, with each building designed to offset nearly 1,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
