Sowing her way into history, Cynthia Mak swiftly mastered the ropes of of luxury fashion, before launching her own line Cynthia & Xiao in 2014. A joint venture between Cynthia and Xiao Xiao, a former Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design classmate, Cynthia & Xiao is a womenswear brand that specializes in knitwear design overlayed by bold graphics known for its modern simplicity. In 2017, Cynthia & Xiao was sponsored by Fashion Hong Kong, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, to launch their 2017 Fall/Winter collections at New York Fashion Week.

Prior to her company, Cynthia studied design and graphics at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design. Having graduated with distinction, her final collection garnered praise from Italian Vogue where she was selected as a designer to watch and included on their list of “New Talents.” Cynthia went on to cut her teeth under Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Roksanda Ilincic­—and back in Hong Kong, at IT and Lane Crawford.
