Curator and writer Cosmin Costinas has been executive director of the non-profit Para Site, Hong Kong’s most innovative art space, for the past decade. During that time he has overseen its relocation and expansion in 2015, and taken a curatorial role in many of its shows.

Originally from Romania, Costinas started out as an independent curator and a writer, before working for three years at Netherlands art centre BAK and then joining Para Site. In addition to promoting international art in the city, the organisation has also had a key role in supporting local artists—a mission that has grown during the pandemic with projects such as the PS Paid Studio Visit programme, and the NoExit Grant for Unpaid Artistic Labour, which it awarded to 25 artists. Costinas has also been artistic director of the Kathmandu Triennale, a guest curator at the Dakar Biennale, curator of Dhaka Art Summit 18 and co-curator of the 10th Shanghai Biennale.
