Cocoa Zhou is the former news anchor turned DJ who is redefining Hong Kong’s nightlife on her own terms

A former television host, news anchor and media producer, Cocoa Zhou came to DJing during the pandemic—drawing on the classical music training she had had since childhood to build a reputation for sets that move between deep house and elevated techno. She has since performed at the world’s most exclusive nightclubs, including Mykonos’s Moni and London’s Annabel’s, earning collaborations with German record label Keinemusik and the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

In late 2025, she founded He.r—an invitation-only electronic series at Mott 32 in Central, conceived as both a personal manifesto and an answer to a gap she felt acutely as a new mother: a space where sophistication, connection and the dancefloor could coexist. Her style reflects the same spirit—the structured suits of her news anchor days have given way to something altogether more relaxed, though her confidence remains unwavering, with a way of making her the centre of any room.

Being stylish is not about following trends, it’s about creating your own.
