The Filipino creative director, designer and producer continues to make prodigious waves in the world of arts and entertainment

Clint Ramos is a Tony Award-winning Filipino designer, creative director and producer whose career connects Philippine talent with the highest levels of American theatre while bringing international productions home. Born and raised in Cebu, he trained at the University of the Philippines before earning a Master of Fine Arts from New York University. He made history as the first person of colour to win the Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Play for Eclipsed, starring Lupita Nyong’o, and secured his seventh career Tony nomination in 2025 for Maybe Happy Ending.

Ramos serves as producing creative director at New York City Center and visual director of Lincoln Center’s Summer For The City festival, and has collaborated with industry titans including Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jennifer Hudson. In 2025, he co-founded Theatre Group Asia (TGA), a Manila-based company dedicated to producing world-class theatre with Filipino artists at its centre. As Overall Artistic and Creative Director, he spearheaded TGA’s launch with the staging of Request sa Radyo, starring Lea Salonga and Dolly de Leon, followed by a sold-out Manila run of Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods.

In September 2026, Ramos served as overall creative director for TGA’s international premiere of The Notebook The Musical in Manila. The production represented a major two-way exchange, bringing an internationally produced musical to the Philippines through a predominantly Filipino creative and performing team. Working across Broadway, film, opera and fashion, Ramos continues to advocate for representation while expanding access, training and global opportunities for local artists.
