Accompanying Vietnamese women on their journey to uterine health

In Vietnam, gynaecological cancers remain a pressing public health challenge. Diseases such as cervical, ovarian and endometrial cancer silently threaten the health and lives of thousands of women each year. According to Globocan, cervical cancer is the second most common gynaecological cancer in the country, with around 5,000 new cases and 2,400 deaths annually. Yet if detected early, it carries a cure rate of up to 90 per cent.

With a clear understanding of this reality, and a vision to transform the health landscape, Chung Thúy Linh chose to take action. In 2021, she founded the Green Ribbon Organisation (TCNX) – a non-profit social initiative with a mission to improve the health and protect the lives of Vietnamese women by spreading knowledge and supporting free programmes for early examination and screening of gynaecological diseases.

Green Ribbon is more than an organisation; it is a strategic response to break down barriers of information and stigma, encouraging women to take charge of their own health. By focusing on comprehensive gynaecological care, Chung Thúy Linh and Green Ribbon are directly helping to reduce the burden of disease, aligning with the national goal of eliminating cervical cancer by 2030, and building a healthier future for generations of Vietnamese women.

From its earliest days, No Xanh Vietnam has pioneered community health education on uterine health, often blending medical expertise with art and creative communication. With a practical approach and a sustainable vision, Chung Thúy Linh built No Xanh under the social enterprise model, ensuring financial efficiency while reinvesting all profits into community activities. Above all, she has embraced communication, creativity and art as essential tools to transform silent issues such as gynaecological disease, cervical cancer or post-surgical mental health into subjects that can be spoken about, empathised with and acted upon.

Under her leadership, No Xanh Vietnam has introduced projects such as Secret of the Neck, an initiative that combines art and medical insight to raise awareness of the uterus, and mental health support for women with gynaecological cancers at Tu Du Hospital. It also delivers education programmes to improve health literacy among university students, provides gynaecological examinations and HPV screening for ethnic minority women, supplies treatment cabinets for infections to health stations in remote areas, and partners with organisations nationwide to extend its reach. What was once a neglected issue, Chung Thúy Linh has elevated into an urgent and humane conversation in community life.
