Chung Hwa Ni
Chairman, Music Technology Institute Foundation
The chairman of the MTI Academy of Music and Technology Foundation, Chung Hwa Ni has pioneered different forms of entertainment in Taiwan over the years. As a young man, he went to Japan to study digital video production and was involved in the film industry. Later, he joined the production team of a TV show called Weekend Party (週末派) which helped introduce a new kind of variety show to Taiwan in the 1980s. In 1987, he founded a record company named Mandala Works, which set trends in rock and hip-hop. Later, he served as the general manager of MTV Taiwan and Commissioner of Taipei’s Cultural Affairs Department.
Hoping to broaden the landscape of the music industry for the next generation, Ni founded Music Technology Institute (MTI) in 2016. In July 2022, he gathered young hip-hop singers to create Dust of Angels: 30 Years Anniversary Tribute Album (少年吔，安啦！30 週年致敬合輯), an album inspired by the movie Dust of Angels.

Did You Know?
Thirty years after the movie Dust of Angels was released, Chung Hwa Ni called on young hip-hop singers to launch the Dust of Angels: 30 Years Anniversary Tribute Album (少年吔，安啦！30 週年致敬合輯) in July 2022, reinterpreting the music for the youth of Taiwan.
