An award-winning, Melaka-born actor, Christopher Lee is regionally recognised for his lead roles

Christopher Lee is an actor recognised especially for his streak of award-winning and critically acclaimed roles as a leading man, twice winning him the prestigious Golden Bell Award, Taiwan’s equivalent of the Emmy’s.

Born and raised in Melaka, and based in Singapore, Lee started out as a model before becoming an actor. Acting in primarily Chinese-language productions after emerging as the first runner-up in Star Search, a Singapore TV talent show that scouts for Sinophone acting talents, he first started acting in TV dramas for Singapore’s Channel 8.

Lee received his first Best Actor nod at the Star Awards and gained prominence for his role as a hanjian (traitor) in the TV drama The Price of Peace. His regional work began with joint productions between Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, winning fame especially in the latter. After a series of unfortunate events, Lee made an incredible comeback, which eventually led to his Golden Bell-winning lead roles in A Good Wife and later the HBO Asia series Workers. He was also nominated for the award for playing a closeted gay man in the TV movie, The Long Goodbye.

Besides acting, Lee has dabbled in music, releasing two albums, and is also a host of several travel and food programmes. He is married to Singaporean model-turned-actress and singer Fann Wong, and together they have a son.
