Pioneering visionary redefining global luxury through fashion, hospitality and wellness

A visionary in global luxury, Christina Ong has redefined contemporary living through her influential ventures in fashion, hospitality and wellness. As founder of the Como Group, she oversees a diverse portfolio that includes Como Hotels and Resorts, fashion retailer Club 21, holistic wellness brand Como Shambhala, and the philanthropic Como Foundation.

Her latest endeavour, Como Orchard on Singapore’s Orchard Road, epitomises her integrated lifestyle philosophy. The destination houses Como Metropolitan Singapore and showcases the Asian debuts of pastry chef Cédric Grolet and restaurateur Simon Kim’s Cote Korean Steakhouse. In 2025, Ong also released Como Simple, a cookbook reflecting her understated yet refined approach to food and hospitality.

Ong began her journey in 1972 with the founding of Club 21 at age 24, introducing Singapore to curated international fashion. Today, the retailer manages nearly 400 stores across Asia representing more than 250 brands, including Alexander Wang, CK Calvin Klein, Issey Miyake and Rick Owens. Como Hotels and Resorts now operates 17 properties worldwide—from Bhutan and the Maldives to Italy and the UK—each defined by intuitive service and authentic design.

In Singapore, Ong revitalised Dempsey Hill with Como Dempsey, a lifestyle enclave featuring restaurants such as The Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Michelin-starred Candlenut, and Culina. In 2024, it welcomed Torno Subito, the casual restaurant by celebrated chef Massimo Bottura.

Through her ventures, Christina Ong continues to shape a global narrative of conscious luxury, craftsmanship and meaningful living.
