Chris Gavino is better known as DJ Manila Killa and is part of Hotel Garuda, with DJ Candle Weather (until June 2018). The third culture kid, who split his time between the States, Philippines and Indonesia, learnt to play cello at a young age, and got into electronic music in high school. By 2015, the self-taught DJ had toured at Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival. He began releasing original dance-pop singles such as 2016 singles "All That's Left" and "Youth" receiving significant play. Prior to them disbanding, they have made official remixes of songs for Lana Del Rey, Banks and Alina Baraz, and collaborated on viral singles with Gryffin and Kaskade, all while studying at George Mason University. Additionally, Chris is a founding member of the music collective and production label, Moving Castle, which is an internet-based platform by a group of young DJs who support one another. At only 23, Manila Killa already has a number of international gigs lined up. He is proud to be representing Asian Americans in the music scene, and wants to continue discovering his sound.
