Chiu Jung Wang

Chairperson, Taiwan Home Nursing Inc.

The company aims to transform elderly care into a more positive and uplifting experience

Throughout the two decades that Chiu Jung Wang (汪秋蓉) has worked as a nurse, she witnessed much suffering, especially in the late stages of life where numerous invasive procedures and treatments were common. In response Wang established the Lianshun Home Care Clinic in 1999, aiming to provide patients with care skills, including chronic disease management, disease prevention, health promotion and independent living, as well as other kinds of support. The goal was to enable elderly individuals to age at home while experiencing a meaningful and dignified end of life.

In 2018, she collaborated with a like-minded Dutch group to co-found Taiwan Home Nursing Inc. Through the integration of medical resources, the organisation seeks to facilitate "aging in place," ensuring that one's home is the best place for care and allowing seniors to age with dignity at home.

Taiwan Home Nursing offers comprehensive home care services focused on independent care and delaying disability. Tailoring services to individual cases, it integrates medical expertise and life support into home-based long-term care, with the goal of promoting independent living for each client. The organisation connects family and friends, community resources, long-term care professionals, and medical resources within a 15-minute drive, providing a layered support system through an "onion-like" care model that ensures the well-being of both caregivers and recipients of care.
